With the licensing changes at Citrix (and their inability to generate quotes), has anyone had an issue where their license grace period wasn't extended for DaaS?
d
As in you hit the end of grace period and they didn't extend again?
Officially the word was for customers that expired in March/April they were supposed to be covered, but we are still waiting for quotes now in May and some are getting very close to expiry so they better extend that policy
m
correct, the license expired in april, grace ended early may, whole client down
d
Ouch!

ive escalated as far up the tree as i and our disti can but so far the only feedback is "were rushing the quote asap"
ive done kludging to get them working but they arent happy, we arent happy
i fully expect citrix to slap us with the new quote at like a 100% premium or something

It's ridiculous, we've done our best to shield customers from the delays and issues but only so much we can do. New quotes I have seen aren't too expensive, generally ~15% up from last year
Some people come out in front now NetScaler is thrown in
m
interesting, the biggest killer for them is the netscaler pricing, they were paying like 9.5k per appliance
we were looking at trying to csp the appliance so its more reasonable
so much for csp'ing the netscaler to save them money
the quote went from ~470ex per user per year (inc 2x netscaler our buy) to ~630ex our buy a 30% increase

Had one small customer where the quote luckily came back the day the grace period was expiring after having been in the system since March. My guess is it was delayed as Citrix didn't really want to renew them as because of legacy TTUs their DaaS user count was below the minimums. 15% increase is around what I saw.

ive told the disti to see if they can make it better, but it most likely its going from this customer
