@Yan Wang any comments? thanks!

FWIW, I asked for a feature request allowing customers to migration entire instances of WEM from one tenant to another. We have half a dozen tenants where I am, and I had to manually do most of the work because of the inability to do this.

@Yan Wang did you get any answers?

Hi, Guys (1) For new OrgID migration, there shall be no issue here, it shall be handled properly. Do you face any issues here? (2) For region migration, we have a feature for handling this, pls. refer to https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/workspace-environment-management/service/whats-new#support-for-migrating-your-service-instance-yourself , you can also contact us, we can handle that by Citrix side.

Yan, I'm in the process of moving one customer from OrgID A to OrgID B, and I reeeeally dont wanna move WEM Service manually. They simply have to many items configured. Do you know of a way to move the configuration from one WEM Service to another? I've tried using REST-API Site_Export, but that didn't work.
y
Hi, Daniel, another method is to export configurations and save a copy locally, and then import to new instance with local files. I will create another slack channel for discussing more.

@Daniel Madsen should be asking for clarification on what he was originally told. I've asked and had answered that at least in the US, moving to a new org ID is not a requirement for true(ing) down license count...
d
@Paul Brown, I talked with our main contact within Citrix and to clarify. No, you don't need to migrate from one OrgID to another when downgrading license count, but ... you can't decrease your number of licenses, if you keep using the same OrgID. If you have bought a 1000 licenses, you can't decrease to e.g. 500. You still need to pay for 1000, but can assign 500 licenses, if that's what you need.
p
This makes even less sense than before. What you just said is “you don’t need a new ID to downgrade, but you do need a new ID to downgrade”.
d
Isn't that how licenses is supposed to work? The more difficult, the more money one can make.
p
I think someone is pulling your chain.
