further testing shows that Disk Manager opens the profile but it doesnt assign a drive letter. After I assign a drive letter, I can access it. Doesn't seem normal
j
share permissions?
j
full.. especially when I copy to my C:
j
i'm thinking off the network. also do you have FAS enabled?
assuming citrix
j
RDS.. Not familiar with "FAS" ?
j
oh just straight RDS, With Horizion or raw microsoft
FAS is citrix
j
just MS no horizon, etc
j
if you add in the machine account on the fileshare, does it then mount the disk?
j
indeed, it does
j
so, you are good?
j
well lol.. thought I was.. i detached it, removed the computer account, and double clicked and it opened again, so maybe that wasnt it. I think since manually assigning a drive letter, it opens now
j
well at login the computer account would be needed. after login you are using your own account
j
im not sure how the scripts like Invoke-FSLShrinkDisk will work unless i jump through hoops prior
j
that one i'm not sure about. one of the microsoft peeps should have a better idea on that one
j
My intention is to install the latest FSLogix and hopefully take advantage of the built in profile shrinking, but wanted to manually check some out for contents.
r
You can directly mount an FsLogix vhdx. Must be done with their driivrrs
j
It actually looks like the shrink script works even while not being able to simply double click the vhdx file to mount. Shrugs. I updated the GP definition files today, plan on upgrading the FSLogix version tonight. Think of any gotchas?
r
What problem are you having all you said was you couldn’t mount the vhdx
j
That was the main "issue".. i was trying to figure out why some users profiles were so large
other than that, just trying to get modern/supported scenario
also plan on disabling the ODFC container and using only Profile
r
I don think you can do that without starting over. You should test the new version with just some machines and see how it works. Should be fine but there are changes version to version.
