Would be curious to find the answer too. I always download and install to find the version. On the other hand Onedrive per machine installer has proper versioning right on the download page.

its a bit hidden, but IIRC the Downloadlink includes the Versionnumber. but not the shortlink/microsoft provides in the Docs, however while/after you download the File you can press CTRL + J to open the Downloads Pane in Chrome/Edge and see the Version this way
