@User I have a 192.168.1.x Internal Network & 192.168.2.x External. I can browse my Synology on External from the internal network on XenServer

You can subdivide what your modem/router gives out via DHCP or via static IP address allocations to devices that connect via Ethernet physically or wirelessly, so that would be one way to delineate. Say, use 1-50 for connected peripherals and higher ranges for other things. Can also use a subnet mask if super paranoid.

But again, I'm not a network guru, I do have a VA in Israel for that, paid him $35 yesterday to create that config for me 🙂

My advice, don't put lab/ad/dns on your home wifi......

Good point., @User . Yes, probably better to split up; you could bridge if needed to have one common external gateway or use some sort of proxy gateway. Lots of options.

your default gateway has to know the route to the 10 net, if you have your isp modem set this will probably not work

Ok actually I think I figured it out 🙂 In your article you point the DNS forwarding out to Google. So it has no idea what my 192.x DNS resolver is and can't find them. I can browse the site by IP

Yes indeed, but I want something small and cheap, just to hold AF stuff & ISO images. The small 2TB thing you shared is not available yet, would be perfect 🙂
