The reason I got the APs is because my ASUS started to run out CPU which was making everything slow, my home WiFi and my NS

This is a cool little feature. It helps you align your vertical rails (they back up against these). Exmp: 3 + 0 = 30 inch depth

Do you guys out of pocket all this stuff or are your home labs sponsored by these vendors?

mine is mainly out of my own pocket and that is why I go so slow. I would love to have some sponsors..

100% out of pocket. I left the customer world to the partner/consulting side in October. I no longer had a "production" environment so felt I was losing touch with operations. I need to feel operational pains in order to be effective solving them for people. So I decided to begin building both prod and lab separately at the house. I had this house built with the intent to make one of the rooms into a server room (power/cooling beefed up in it). Sponsors would be cool but then I'd feel like I owe them or something. Everything I learn I want to share freely with the community and unfiltered, all my opinions.

USG can be controlled with UniFi Controller and harder to customize. Edge is more feature rich but can't use UniFi with it.

I was thinking that USG is my firewall, infront of my EdgeRouter

I was thinking they are almost pretty close in capability. Jarian or Trond would know more. I haven't laid hands on either yet.

@User: these are the vertical cable managment fingers I was telling you about. They just pop in, you run the cables through channel, then pop the cover over on. Seems pretty solid so far. I don't intend to run cable for a bit

Are you guys aware of a monitored version of the Kill A Watt? I bought a metered PDU and in testing it seems to work fine. But I underestimated how far back in the rack it sits so will never see the little readout. The monitored version was way more expensive and used some outdated Java based web console I didn't want to mess with. The UPSs I bought cannot be monitored either. What do you guys use to monitor power usage?

As far as lab, self funded

@Steve Elgan: both, my experiments are typically out of pocket and the core sponsored through Citrix and partners

100% self funded, but sure helps that I have a couple of sponsors on xenappblog.com
