Anyone ever have issues getting ISO's from a Synology to load correctly in ESXi? I can map the NFS share without an issue but can't get the iso to mount on a vm

No problem from either Synology using NFS

@carlwebster Yeah, this is odd. It won't boot from any ISO, won't connect. Attempting to load an ISO shows Failed to attach disc image: Connection control operation failed for disk 'sata0:0

@carlwebster Mind looking at your NFS share and shooting me a screenshot of the permissions?

Nevermind. I looks like it was a permissions issue. Very odd though since XS works just fine

It seems ESXi needs Read/Write permission to the NFS path

    Also - ESXi 6.5 with SSD: https://communities.vmware.com/thread/554004

SSD or NVMe? I would test with 6.0 to see if that changes, if possible of course. ESXi is by far the fastest hypervisor without any doubt, believe me!

@User That forum thread tells how to resolve it and it does work. It was driving me crazy trying to figure out why the SSD was seeing 600ms latency just installing windows on 1 vm

So despite the fact that QNAP support originally told me my 960s were supported turns out they only support SSD and not NVME controllers on the particular board I bought. There's one that supports NVME but doesn't fit in my 531x. Grrrr. So I bought some WD Blues I stuck them in there. Frustrated but oh well.

Yes the 20A cable is a bit overkill, time to find something similar for 10A at Amazon. A big bonus was the socket's been able to merge with each other saving another 5 cm. With the new smaller ERx I even get space for my Win10 ICS machine for internet. More photos to come.
