Yeah Exodus is just an add on. Kodi + the Exodus add on is all you really need. I put it on a Fire TV so just the one box can handle 4K content as more becomes available. Plex I use for my own content, to be able to roam around and pickup where I left off, etc

No, I use a docker container with Rockstor. Even PVR works for me!

I’ve used Trakt before but I use Plex now and Kodi just pulls from plex.

I have no idea why others aren’t doing this more. Maybe scared of containers? 😉

Esxi 6.5 has support for docker containers right? I would love to run Plex in a container. Many of the apps I use are containerized with Turbo so this makes sense to me.

It is fantastic, I run almost everything as a Docker container. Sabnzbd, transmission, sickbeard, Plex, etc

Don’t use ESXi for that, it just runs a VM that runs Linux that runs DOcker that runs the container. You can use Centos or Ubuntu VM and run docker off that. However, depending on what you have running, you might want to look at a NAS software solution that runs docker containers. Rockstor does this but so do more popular ones like Synology, QNAP, FreeNAS. Finally, you could use a cloud Plex with the plex pass.

They may have changes their stuff since DOcker is the enterprise version and Moby is the open source.

Thanks, will read up on those! I tried Plex on synology and had a lot of trouble with bluray transcodes. Moved to a physical i5 and still wasn't happy. So far the 2016 VM on the skull canyon has performed the best

@User have you tried to run it in Docker on XenServer? Is it complicated to setup? Thinking about doing it in the Master Class just for fun

I’m a big fan of Rockstor just don’t use RAID5 or 6 with BTRFS though.
