instruction and it tooks like 3 seconds at least

setting the glide_cache folder localy, the cached images are rendered instantly

but when the glide_folder is in the s3 bucket then it will always take too much time to retrieve the manipulated image stored in the cache folder

side note, with Glide I'd recommend putting a CDN in front of the /img path, as you don't want to use resources on your origin for something that's static once generated

now I'm very curious to understand why this is happening. from your investigation, is it actually taking that time to retrieve the file, or to regenerate it?

it's taking time just to retrieve the image (even checking if the object exists) in the s3 bucket

i've tried to retrieve the object using the S3 client, and yes it takes 4.4s to get the result

Now we can look at it through the link. The server here is a very powerful server, and the file size is 41kb. This image should be opened instantly and even the refresh should not be visible. However, that is not the case.

This image has been manipulated and written into glide_cache but I guess it re-render every time.

1699ms is a long time for a 41kb image.

well in my side, from your link, the image is displayed pretty fast haha

As @User said, it is much faster when you convert the cache to local. only 84ms.

Hi all - newbie here. Im trying to seed a superadmin user whilst Im doing major initial development (I keep running lots of migrations) - I've looked at the source code for the command CreateSuperAdmin.php and used similar in my seed. The database table (twill_users) seems to be populating ok. But I cannot login to the admin area. Any ideas? Im assuming the password is hashed in the same way as usual laravel: Hash::make('XXXXXX')

Hi @User, yes it is using standard Laravel password hashing

If i run the artisan command twill:superadmin , it all works fine

you could call the command from your code with arguments

now it's speeding up for me too, i don't know why. @User is that you? 😀
