Hi All, Was wondering, as an HR professional, is it better to have a niche but specialized designation like People Partner - Talent Management & Intern Hiring or L&D or does a broader designation like People Success Partner or HRBP or People Manager works better in terms of career opportunities? What are your thoughts? And what are some of the HR titles you have come across that appealed to you? TIA :)

It depends based on the organisation practices, some organisation prefers People Partner however most of the business oriented organisations prefers HRBP, I have come across organisations calling HR teams in various name like People Function, People & Culture, Human Resources etc based on the department names the titles will also follow some of the very interesting titles I have come across are: Chief Diversity Officer or Diversity Leader, Employee Wellness Manager, Chief Heart Officer - HR roles are highly driven by Empathy hence one of organisations had named the title of CPO this way, Chief Learning Officer (L&D Manager/Leader)

One leader I spoke to said that they prefer fancy titles because that makes their people less searchable by others. For example, if you have a role title like Culture Maven, they will not turn up in searches for HRBP etc.

Thanks for the input, @Rashmi Utnal Thanks @Sumit Singla - This approach reminds of an old social media trend "What's not criminal but feels like it?" 😅
