Hi @Pavani Gajendra. We are a 40 employee company now and we're growing rapidly. What are some of the challenges we could face when scaling up the people processes? What pitfalls do we have to look out for?

Hi @Pavithra Chandrasekaran, Thank you for the question. Below are some pointers on top of my mind. • As a young company, you are a lot productive. Most employees are willing to put in extra effort and time to get work done. This will change as you grow and responsibilities get distributed. Giving clarity on Roles and responsibilities and ensuring a culture with bias for action is critical. • Early employees can feel threatened by the infusion of new talent. Creating a transparent culture and making sure the transition of responsibilities is at an optimal pace. This especially holds good when creating hierarchy. • Attrition - A company inevitably goes through a phase where there are resignations from employees with high dependency. This could hamper the morale of employees, lead to improper knowledge transfer or raise in employee salary in case of retention. Be prepared with back-ups and eliminate any dependencies on single role. • Engage employees with more than just fun activities. Create an environment of knowledge sharing. The team dynamics change when they can learn from each other. • Onboarding - Super critical! Create 30-60-90 day plans for new hires to keep them engaged and to track performance during probation. • Have systems for everything you can. Take time and evaluate tools for Project management, HRMS, Sprint planning, OKRs, onboarding and Performance management. Choosing a wrong tool would mean data migration and inconvenience.
