Thanks for the q, @Bhavya Arora
There have been companies like Zapier, Github which have been remote first from day 1 and are known to have a great culture. The challenge has been for companies which had to switch to remote-first in the last 2.5 years and tried to adopt what worked for them in the co-located mode to the remote-first mode.
You have to think from first-principles and design the culture, playbooks, channels, engagement calendar ground up.
There are many things that will be context-driven but IMO itβs very important to think of a combination of asynch. and synch. channels. HR/ leadership should know what absolutely needs to be done in a synch. manner and what can be enabled in an asynch. manner.
If you think of company culture as the way people operate and behave, it becomes much easier to frame the problem as decide and define the target behaviors and then how to propagate these behaviors. Highlight the preferred behaviors via stories - both real-life anecdotes from the company as well as external stories that will serve as an inspiration.
How the stories are articulated - text/ video/ audio/ animation/ narration and how they are disseminated - slack/ MS Teams/ Email/ Whatsapp/ in-person etc. are contextual and tactical decisions.
