@Dipali Pallai In your opinion, what do most startups get wrong while setting up their people management processes for the first time? What is some important HR-related advice that you actively give to companies you work with to avoid these mistakes?

The biggest mistakes that I have seen 1. Focused on outcomes and not on feedback process, attrition is extremely high due to this fact 2. Implementing policies too late, by then there is a complete disregard for process and culture dilution 3. Because team members wear multiple hats they are left confused about their personal long term goals 4. Policies are often not scalable and need to be revisited time and again. Policies and processes need to be scalable with a long term view 5. Have simple measurable goals that are not complicated but that give direction and purpose to teammate and the company 6. Start building a culture from day one. 7. Adding end to end journey mapping 8. Be compliant with labour laws 9. if you are speaking about an HRMS find a provider who is robust, agile and willing to make changes as start ups are learning.
