Hello, Do employees have choice to opt out of PF?
r
Hey Supriya, Yes but it comes with these criteria: An employee can opt out of the provident fund if the following criteria are met: 1. If he/she is a first-time employee i.e., at the time of joining the first job 2. The employee has his or her Basic + DA (PF Wages) more than Rs.15000/- per month 3. At the time of changing a job, only when he/she does not have an existing PF account number The employee has to fill form 11 for the same.

All 3 criteria to be fulfilled?
Or anyone

please refer to the PF site for FAQ https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/FAQ.php

First thing is you can opt out of PF at the time of joining if his/her basic pay is above 15000/- and later if you wish to enroll you can, but once PF contribution has started you cannot discontinue. then rest of the conditions fall in place.

Giving a bit more clarification on the above: If an employee already holds UAN (Universal Account Number) and the contributions are happened he/she will not have the option to opt out whether they fall above the slab of 15k or when they change the jobs

Hey @Arijit Bhowmik, avoid checking the box that says Also send to #<channel-name> No need to take the conversation outside of the thread and to surface it for everyone when you’re replying

hi @Arijit Bhowmik what was the size of the organization you worked for, if the strength was less that 20 then PF would not be applicable, in case of 20 and above PF becomes mandatory.
