@helpful-caravan-75149 It’s because this option looks for Airtable fields that are of Attachment type. You need to have such field for the option to show up
h
@sticky-night-20812 does it need to be airtable? can it be another data source? one of the beta ones, salesforce, postgres.. also, does the attachment field need to be in the same table as the displayed record, or anywhere amongst the sync tables?
s
Needs to be in the same table. Regarding the data source, I am not sure, I believe it should work with any of them though.
w
It can just be a stacker field, which wouldn’t need to be in your AT dataset. You can either just use a single image or create a formula to change the image based a variable within the record.

@wonderful-pharmacist-31651 can you please point me to a help article discussing your solution? i mean, i'm familiar with formula fields, but they can't contain binary (i.e. file/image) content, right..? this would be a great help to my solution, so if you could please clarify a little bit more. thanks!
w
I apologize - the formula solution is not possible for native headers / I use that as a workaround to display banners that I need to change daily through formulas. I use the “Highlight” field to display the formula that is dependent upon the current shipping schedule. I am attaching a view of what this looks like - it is more of an informative banner than a header for visual pleasure.
I also have a zapier automation that uses the Native banner field - this takes the logo entered, stacks the images and generates a banner to upload to the Airtable Attachment field upon creation. Attaching here

@helpful-caravan-75149 Stacker Fields help doc article is the solution Tyler mentions. You could store the images just in Stacker rather than in your main database. This may work for you, depending on if you need the images to be both in Stacker as well as your data source (or not).
@wonderful-pharmacist-31651 I'm curious what tool you use to automate the image creation? Looks great!

@sticky-area-45739 thx for the clarifying bits. in our case, though, we need the images to be dynamically assigned from source db, via link or so. not sure that's possible with stacker (?)
s
Ah ok, in that case Stacker Fields wouldn't help. What db are you using?
h
salesforce, but we could switch maybe for a different one (postgres) in the future, should that make sense.

I'd say it's best to ping support to ask about this via the widget at the bottom right of your app, sorry I can't be more help here!

@sticky-area-45739 Using BannerBear for a quick image generation via query string. I use it quite a bit if you look around in my apps 🙂 You can also do this nativley in Cloudinary with their layer_ parameter - but I use Bannerbear bc it saves me time making templates on the front-end.

That's really cool, I haven't come across BannerBear but definitely could be useful for one of my projects!
