@elegant-house-93198 I exported the descriptions in a csv file, updated one of the descriptions and tried to import the descriptions again. I get this error
File structure does not match required structure.
even if i just remove one character from the description
More details: I did the change on Microsoft Excel on a Mac. When I edited the csv in a text editor, it then uploaded fine

Thanks for pointing out this issue @nice-planet-7734. I'm curious about the use case you have for this feature? I know people who are migrating from Amundsen have used it but would love to hear your use case

We started building up the dictionary on a spreadsheet before we got secoda. Once we move everything to secoda, we'll manage the dictionary in secoda

@elegant-house-93198 I tried to bulk update the description via this method but it seems that I need to at least have something in each of the column description before I can bulk update them via the import feature. What’s the best way of bulk updating descriptions?

You're correct, the bulk upload was designed for people migrating from Amundsen. What I can do is make the upload functionality more intelligent and try to automatically match the resource description you're uploading based on column/table name. If you could send a sample to andrew@secoda.co of what your spreadsheet looks like I can see how much effort it would be. How many descriptions are you migrating over?
