"While defining KPIs for graphic designers/creative person, you need to cook for kitchen and you need to cook for soul.

So OKRs should be 70% for business(kitchen) and 30% for person's portfolio(soul). In 30% allow them to do work which they feel proud about and eventually it will help brand"

I always keep this in mind when I have to allocate work to graphic designer.

Applies to any driven person who likes what they do right? Regardless of the role. 

I’m looking for more measurable KPIs. I know a few but I just want to get this from designers. 

What do world class design teams do differently? 

Not a designer by a long shot, but will risk taking a guess from first principles :stuck_out_tongue:

Volume = %age of sales/marketing banner/creative requests fulfilled
Quality = can be based on the project owner rating or can be objective like CTR (in case of ads)
Speed = avg no. of days taken to produce a creative

If I were to do it, I would further breakdown all creative requests into storypoints (like developers do) to measure effort in a standardised way.

1 banner = 1 storypoint
1 deck slide = 1 storypoint
1 infographic = 5 storypoints
1 30-sec video = 100 storypoints

and so on... based on the effort/hours one needs to put in. And then one can simply say that a designer needs to be productive enough to deliver 200 storypoint worth of work every 2-week sprint.

The above metrics would then become:

Volume = Number of storypoints
Quality = Avg Output or rating per storypoint
Speed = Storypoint per day

Goals include Quantity of content to be designed as per customers and sales journey, engagement rate of the content, downloads to be achieved, brand identity and consistency of color theory, color ratio, financial impact created, awards won for design and campaigns, hotjar analysis of content put on site, et . More opportunities should be given to excel like 2 ppts per month for b2b events, award applications, sales pitches, etc for them to have an element of bonus as Graphic Design work is highly underrated and not set up for winning incentives traditionally. Further, I would strongly recommend founders/managers to first study Design and undergo some training from Creative Directors and Visualizers before setting KPIs and goals for Graphic Designers to understand their career path and growth with realistic KPIs.

I think the same. TechCrunch became a place where all you had to do was know the right "PR" folks to get an article there. Why are you looking to replace it? If it is cost, I recommend checking Mautic which is open source. They were recently acquired by Drupals parent company. It is labor intensive in maintenance, but features are comparable.

Would it create an opportunity for China and India to fill the massive gap and need? 

Also, what happens when the war is over? Would they start operations in Russia again? 

Solidarity is important. But what have consumers of Russia done to deserve non-availability of products / support. They have been rather loyal to these brands for long. 

The war is between governments and a brand or organization that claims to be global shouldn't be getting involved with geopolitical issues. 

In my opinion, the best way these brands could have helped Ukraine would be by forwarding all the profits / revenue they make in Russia towards the support missions in Ukraine. 

Closing down operations temporarily during war, seems like gimmick at some level.

1. Most of the conversations are towards Enterprise Tech, B2B SaaS and Sales led motions, not a lot of space for PLG.
2. My interests and job is GTM oriented so the ROI for me is higher but it will probably be much lower if your use case is only marketing wouldn't recommend it then.
3. You have to put in proactive effort into connecting with people and reaching out and learning from searching old messages as people won't be super active. 
4. You don't get access to all the courses on monthly plans you will need annual for all access and still some courses might be of executive level.

I just got a walkthrough from the front end team for Strapi today and it looked pretty amazing! (This was for website content, our blog is on WP already.)

Try to use standard ones like Marketo, hubspot, salesforce as multiple others will not have enough experienced people to work on them requiring lot of training for all teams multiple times. For employees making progress in careers - niche ones may not be useful in future.

Musings from random observations. Not a playbook.

I would say many times its the company culture that is a roadblock even if there is a good product. 

1. Create employee culture of community building like offsites etc. - has to be bigger and cooler than what an employee can afford to do otherwise (ex. A company sent us to Las Vegas, barcelona, cruise trips, etc as perks). Requires full time employer branding resources from companies like google, nutanix, etc.
 
2. Create a sense of celebration big wins and small wins by sharing it in media, announcements as press releases. Many times companies have NDA cultures so employees tend to keep it safe (new deals as press releases, new hires/elevations announcement in trade magazines like afaqs, etc). Have a clear social policy in other words

3. Build freedom and Thought leadership  - Advocacy and good products bring pride as someone mentioned. Ex. Zomato, tata, mahindra, tesla. Requires founders to have depth and media relations with strong PR

4.  Get employees to influencer events and post together (like comic shows, parties or lunches outside work, celebrity or influencer meet ups) - insisting as they feel a sense of pride when tagged on social by the celeb and share more content. Have seen this at Disney Hotstar/Talks at Google

5. Welcome kits get shared a lot on social media (you will see freshworks  netflix etc being shared). Do social listening on what is being shared. Has to be bragworthy

6. But overall, i think more than anything else, have strong product with strong industry and hiring traction and a strong and well accepted leadership / ceo team

7. Just like brand voice have brand and employer values. Values bring in community building and strength. Strong values, empowering employees with experimentation, failures, ability of employees to say No to even customers if value systems are being tampered gives a strong sense of trust and confidence. Also attracts right talent, investments etc. Ex. Football teams and coaches

Maybe valid arguments could be: amazing joining kit (but again only very few employees would be eligible for that at any time) or amazing offsite (like the CEO declaring we're taking everyone to Las Vegas)

TBH there's no silver bullet, folks can only provide generic reaponses from experience as response - have seen employees post about their CEOs most inane actions, and also sometimes choose to be silent about career trajectory-changing support.

<@U02VD2JL8N8> yes I understand that, that's why this question was so hard. Recently we heard 4000 people just pulling the CEO down on mass layoffs. I was thinking what could be the opposite of that? One positive action by the CEO that every employees wants to talk about. Two valid answers can be: either give them a totally amazing holiday gift or announce an amazing offsite. Both these things are likely going to make some percentage of employees want to talk about it on social media.

Same goes for the response I gave - hence no silver bullets. I, for instance, know people (incl myself) would never talk about any gifts they receive at work because they find it... tacky to brag about :slightly_smiling_face:
As to why the Better CEO got talked off because they lacked the basic human courtesy in doing the hard talk right. It wasn't just failure as CEO.

As an employee, I'd want feel valued at my company, and my employer to show how much they care about me to go out of my way to post something on social media.
So, some things in combination could be
1. A personalized gift hamper with premium foods/small appliances I maybe wouldn't buy on my own but would use regularly, (personalized per employee tastes is better), with a note
2. 1-2 spa/massage/chiropractor sessions to show you also care about their daily health, pamper
3. Give a coming Friday off as a surprise to take that session
4. Other ideas may vary based on employee count and how well you know them
IMO an extravagant offsite may or may not individually say 'I value YOU' and the experience might be similar to multiple people.
