I know for a fact most early teams with first time founders are not good at understanding the health of their biz quantitatively/qualitatively and so can't really tell if they have strong PMF or not.

Also they don't have a good process for hiring - this is also true with later teams - its all subjective (or mostly is) vs being data driven like the rest of their biz.
A lot of the timing of hiring and who to hire gets influenced by investors who go off of what they can tell from the state of the biz and/or their opinion - both of which are not good triggers.

Lastly, people wanting to do growth roles don't necessarily know the right Qs to ask to suss out the state of the biz and/or understand how they are a fit and/or could be a force multiplier for the biz should they join.

Says a lot about all these CBCs/other types of growth courses and how well they're preparing people to critically evaluate any company to join eh?
Can't really do all that fancy growth stuff if you're at a startup that's not ready to grow and/or you're not the person they need at that time.

Which is why the bigger issue for me still is the startups themselves - very little clue of who and how to hire for this role (and also in general).

Mine was lead generation without any paid ads. Just write organic copy and try to get eyeballs.

From your and others’ here standpoint though, what would the _*business impact to you*_ be if these tools did allow for longer data retention (leading to longer time periods to analyse)?

Campaign effectiveness is directly proportional to your targeted user’s data. Therefore, the more(older) information you  have of a lead, you can do a better segmentation of your target audience and hence a better ROI for such campaigns. And logically, the traits of the lead are changing every day, and the more data you have, a better 360-degree view of that lead you have, and you can target him effectively.

 _Imagine you have to pay unreasonably high money to ensure that your most loyal customers are not treated as fresh leads. You would want to remember the health package they took six months back or the products they bought from you last Christmas/Diwali/BBD Sales_.

Hey, I have used Userpilot for about 2-3 years. Worked well for most of the cases - onboarding, adoption, surveys and other things.

Super-friendly team and good support. Cheaper compared to alternatives.

I would recommend to build your own, takes less time.

I just cleared my slack messages from all communities I'm a part of and noticed that the same message was posted in multiple communities. Most have just become a promotion channel for most members. I believe one way to stop it by having paid communities with a moderated intent.

Which are the top 2-3 Slack communities that folks here have derived the maximum value from? (Free or Paid and apart from s11s) Would want to be part of those rather than the ones that are not adding much value.

tl;dr: Initially go slow and do a proper warm-up of your domain.

Make sure hygiene points are taken care of like setting up DKIM, SPF, clean email list, etc.

To start with depict human behaviour while doing outreach. Take help from friends, and colleagues to warm up your domain. Ask them to engage with your emails. Also you can use automation tool for warming up (but don’t rely only on it).
