 No, you cannot manually select the speech recognition (STT) provider. [(1) ](<https://docs.retellai.com/build/asr-provider-comparison>) Retell automatically picks a speech recognition provider based on the languages your agent is configured for. 

The system evaluates your agent's selected languages and routes to the most accurate option among three providers: Deepgram, Azure, and Soniox. The routing logic works as follows: 

- Single common language → Deepgram 
- Single uncommon language (not covered by Deepgram) → Azure 
- Multiple languages, all within Deepgram's multilingual set → Deepgram multilingual 
- Multiple languages, broader combination → Soniox 

While you can't manually switch providers, the system automatically selects the best option based on your language configuration.
