@AI Evy - the navigate IVR feature under warm transfer in Transfer Call node in Conversation Flow - will the agent have the context of the call and be able to handle navigation based on context of the call. As in for sales transfer to extension 3 vs for support transfer to extension 9, etc.?

Thanks for tagging me @Rakshit Kalra. I'll look through relevant sources and get back to you shortly.
### Answer Yes, the Navigate IVR feature under warm transfer can use call context to handle navigation intelligently. You provide a prompt to help navigate if the transfer target is an IVR system [(1) ]() . The Navigate IVR field allows you to write instructions for the agent to follow when navigating the IVR menu [(2) ]() [(1) ]() . This means you can include contextual logic in your prompt, such as "If the call is about sales, press 3. If the call is about support, press 9." The agent will have access to the conversation context and can make decisions based on what was discussed during the call before initiating the transfer. You can reference dynamic variables or conversation details in your Navigate IVR prompt to guide the agent's navigation choices [(1) ]() . This feature is specifically designed to help your agent automatically navigate IVR systems at the transfer destination, making it possible to route to the correct department or extension based on the call's context [(2) ]() [(1) ]() .

@AI Evy - I use dynamic variable in it. But it doesn't follow it. Doesn't navigate. I also have wait for human enabled. It just fails in 30s and in detail logs I see that it tried but no human detected and so transfer failed. whats the right way to do this?

Thanks for the follow-up, @Rakshit Kalra. I'll get back to you soon.
### Answer Based on the issue you're describing, here are the key configuration points for Navigate IVR with warm transfer: Human Detection and IVR Navigation Interaction When you enable human detection, the agent waits to detect a human before connecting the original caller [(1) ]() [(2) ]() . The agent detection timeout defaults to 30 seconds . If human detection doesn't succeed within this timeframe, the transfer is marked as failed . The Right Configuration Approach For IVR navigation to work properly with human detection: 1. **Navigate IVR prompt**: Provide clear instructions in the Navigate IVR field to help the agent navigate the IVR system . Be specific about which digits to press based on your dynamic variables. 2. **Auto-greet setting**: Enable auto-greet so the agent immediately says "Hello" when the transfer target picks up . This encourages a response, increasing the likelihood of detecting a human . 3. **Agent detection timeout**: Consider adjusting the agent detection timeout if 30 seconds isn't sufficient for your IVR navigation plus human detection . Troubleshooting Your Setup Since your logs show "no human detected," the issue is likely that: - The agent is navigating the IVR but not reaching a human within the 30-second window - The IVR system isn't responding in a way that triggers human detection Try adjusting your Navigate IVR prompt to be more explicit about the navigation path, enable auto-greet, and potentially increase the agent detection timeout to allow more time for the IVR navigation to complete before human detection begins .

@AI Evy how will I know that it tried IVR navigation. I dont see it doing that in the detail logs. Is that not logged or is it logged and I am not seeing the relevant logs?

Thanks for the follow-up, @Rakshit Kalra. I'll get back to you soon.
### Answer Based on the available documentation, the specific logging details for IVR navigation attempts are not explicitly documented in the official sources [(1) ]() [(2) ]() . The documentation explains how to configure Navigate IVR with prompts to help navigate IVR systems , but doesn't detail what specific logs or indicators appear when the agent attempts IVR navigation. However, based on community discussions, there appears to be a known issue where IVR navigation may not work as expected in certain scenarios, particularly when combined with warm transfers from inbound calls [(3) ]() . One community member reported that IVR navigation "only works on outbound calls" and questioned whether it works when transferring a call to an IVR . Since you're seeing transfer failures at 30 seconds with "no human detected" but not seeing evidence of IVR navigation in your detail logs, this suggests either: 1. The IVR navigation isn't being triggered or logged in a visible way 2. There may be limitations with IVR navigation in your specific transfer scenario I don't have information in the available sources about where IVR navigation attempts should appear in detail logs or what specific log entries to look for. For clarity on logging behavior and troubleshooting your specific setup, I recommend reaching out to Retell support directly or checking if there are any updates on IVR navigation logging in the platform.
