 In Retell AI, when you enable `enable_dynamic_responsiveness`, the agent dynamically adjusts how quickly it responds based on the user's speech rate and past turn-taking behavior in the call [(1) ](<https://docs.retellai.com/api-references/update-agent>) [(2) ](<https://docs.retellai.com/api-references/get-agent-versions>) . 

This means the agent observes how the user speaks during the conversation and adapts its timing accordingly. If the user speaks quickly or tends to jump in fast, the agent will respond more quickly. If the user speaks slowly or takes longer pauses, the agent adjusts to match that pace .

The parameter is a boolean that defaults to `false` if unset .
