we set up the date and time of a post webhook to give results like after more than 10 seconds but apparently the time we set is not being obeyed the api ends up being invoked 3 times @Shah - support @ Retell AI ,the timeout set time isn't it supposed to be obeyed?

so by default there's 3 webhook timeouts, if the setup time is 10 seconds, itll try for 10 seconds, try again, and end up doing it again, if no response is given it will fail with the error. you can see these in the detailed logs aswell

In Retell AI the “timeout” you set for a webhook is how long Retell waits for your server to respond, not a delay before sending the webhook. If your endpoint doesn’t return a success status (2xx) within the timeout window (default ~10 s), Retell assumes the call failed and retries the same webhook up to three times. That’s why you’re seeing three posts instead of one. The system isn’t ignoring the timeout it’s enforcing it as a response deadline, and if your server doesn’t answer quickly enough it triggers retries. To fix this you should make your webhook quickly return a success response and move any slow logic (like waiting or delaying) into an asynchronous process on your side.
