Agent calling function with no args

Hello! One of our agent is continuously calling our book appointment function with no args, leading to no actual booked appointment and a messy backend. The prompting and function calls are not the issue, the agent transitions between nodes and calls the functions when it's supposed to. However when calling the function, Retell is sending no args through the webhook. Hello @George ‼ , I see you are using GPT 5.1, which is inconsistent with function calling , try to use GPT 4.1 .

Is 5.1 known for being generally bad? We've also had multiple occurrences where the agent will just stop speaking randomly, which I've been told is an LLM issue. Swapped to 4.1 and the function was sent properly. Will monitor for future issues. Thank you.

Hello @George ‼ , so the issue here that you have to many things as required If the LLM cannot resolve all of them properly, then it might return empty. a better solution is to use dynamic variables to ensure all the info are correctly collected (add extract dynamic variables node after each information collection node) Then just use the dynamic variables as const param. In the meantime, if some attributes are optional, please remove the "required" mark, it would also help with the accuracy.
