@AI Evy what is going on here? I have my dialer in GHL, and I have the same setup for other subaccount but this one is returning this kind of error? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1302816169367044149/1462913028763943074/image.png?ex=696feb6d&is=696e99ed&hm=67c9a6a774986bf3e436f3e83d4c0f1655213f85ca7297983e0c776593f185e7&

Thanks for tagging me @Neil. I'll look through relevant sources and get back to you shortly.
### Answer I don't have visibility into the specific error you're seeing since no screenshot or error message was shared. However, based on common GHL + Retell integration issues, here are likely causes: If you're getting a 400 error: You can use the "custom webhook" function in GHL to trigger calls using the Create Call API as an alternative workaround. [(1) ]() If you're getting a "Verification Failed" error when connecting the API key: This is usually caused by either an invalid or misformatted API key, or a known GHL marketplace bug. Quick fixes: - Test the Retell API key in Postman to confirm it works - Copy it into a plain text editor to remove hidden spaces, then paste into GHL - Make sure you're using the correct key type (location vs agency) [(2) ]() If you're getting "dial_failed": Check if you're calling a US number—Retell-purchased numbers can only call US numbers currently. For international calls, you'd need SIP trunking. [(3) ]() Could you share the specific error message you're seeing? That will help narrow down the issue.

that is the error, its sending as web call and error has not joined

Thanks for the follow-up, @Neil. I'll get back to you soon.
### Answer Based on the error you're describing ("sending as web call" and "error has not joined") , this sounds like the call is being initiated as a web call instead of a phone call, and the connection isn't being established properly. I don't have specific documentation covering this exact GHL integration error in my available sources. However, here are some things to check: Possible causes: 1. Phone number configuration issue - The
from_number
must be a phone number you've purchased and configured through Retell AI with an
outbound_agent_id
bound to it [(1) ]() 2. Missing agent binding - If your phone number doesn't have an
outbound_agent_id
configured, you need to either set one or use the
override_agent_id
parameter in your request To verify your phone number is properly configured for outbound calls:
Copy code
javascript
const phoneNumberResponse = await client.phoneNumber.update('+14157774444', {
 inbound_agent_id: 'oBeDLoLOeuAbiuaMFXRtDOLriTJ5tSxD',
 nickname: 'Frontdesk Number',
 outbound_agent_id: 'oBeDLoLOeuAbiuaMFXRtDOLriTJ5tSxD',
}) ;
[(2) ]() Recommended next steps: - Verify the phone number in your GHL subaccount is properly purchased/imported in Retell - Confirm the phone number has an
outbound_agent_id
assigned - Check if the API payload is correctly structured for a phone call vs. web call Could you share a screenshot of the actual error message? That would help pinpoint the exact issue.

@AI Evy can i make the webhook from retell send only one event and that is when the call is completed?
a
Thanks for the follow-up, @Neil. I'll get back to you soon.
### Answer Currently, it's not possible to configure Retell webhooks to send only specific events like
call_completed
or
call_ended
. [(1) ]() [(2) ]() For every call, you will receive all webhook events (
call_started
,
call_ended
,
call_analyzed
) —there's no option to filter and receive only certain events at this time. A feature request has been noted for this capability. [(2) ]() Workaround suggestion: You could add logic on your receiving server/webhook handler to simply ignore the events you don't need (e.g., only process when
event === "call_ended"
or
event === "call_analyzed"
) .
