@AI Evy Are there any pages or resources that outline what model is best to use for what? I moved from GPT4.1 mini fast to GPT 5 mini fast for global prompt, but am receiving some weird results now. I'm not sure if that could be the model, due to the reports are from a small section of calls.

Thanks for tagging me @Bonne. I'll look through relevant sources and get back to you shortly.
### Answer Yes, there's a blog post that provides model recommendations based on use case. For lightweight, high-speed tasks (like lead qualification, survey intake) , here's the comparison: [(1) ]() | Model | Model Type | Intelligence | Latency | Pricing | |-------|-----------|--------------|---------|---------| | GPT-5 Mini (minimal) | Reasoning Model | Highest in this group | Medium (800ms) | $0.012/min | | GPT-4.1 Mini | No-Reasoning text-first LLM | High | Low (550ms) | $0.016/min | Key recommendation from the docs: > "For small tasks that still benefit from reasoning, GPT-5 Mini is a strong choice. But if your workflow is speed-sensitive and doesn't require deep reasoning, stick with GPT-4.1 Mini." GPT-5 Mini is a reasoning model, which means it processes differently than GPT-4.1 Mini (a non-reasoning model) . This fundamental difference could explain the "weird results" you're seeing—reasoning models may interpret prompts differently or produce more nuanced (sometimes unexpected) outputs. Things to consider: - GPT-5 Mini has higher latency (800ms vs 550ms for GPT-4.1 Mini) - In testing, GPT-5 models showed slightly higher latency, possibly due to high early traffic You may want to test both models side-by-side with the same prompts to determine if the reasoning model behavior aligns with your use case. Ok but how do they compare to other models, such as haiku or gemini flash 3?

Thanks for the follow-up, @Bonne. I'll get back to you soon.
### Answer --- I don't have detailed comparison information for Claude Haiku or Gemini Flash 3 against GPT models in the available sources. The sources do show that models like
claude-4.5-haiku
,
gemini-2.5-flash
,
gemini-2.5-flash-lite
, and
gemini-3.0-flash
are available options for post-call/chat analysis. [(1) ]() [(2) ]() From a Discord discussion, one user mentioned that "Gemini also is superior in almost any other metric" compared to Claude or OpenAI products, and that it may be cheaper—though this is community feedback, not official documentation. [(3) ]() For a comprehensive model comparison covering latency, intelligence, and pricing across all supported models (including Haiku and Gemini variants) , I'd recommend checking the Retell AI blog or reaching out directly: - [Contact Sales]() - [Retell AI GitHub]() Would you like me to try providing a general answer based on my broader knowledge instead?
