Here's a question for the #tribe to think and ponder upon. Your answers will help us design a better product in our team: How could a piece of software help a scientist, a student or a researcher in their process of writing an academic paper? Imagine you were writing an academic/research paper, what kind of help would you require from a software in this process?
m
Reproducibility, logging data & the pace to run and test experiments.

Extremely crucial feature for ML researchers - Delete the entire paper and ban the researcher from using your software if they title their paper something like - "X is all you need!" /s ML folks would know 😛

I have written some papers, and as per my experience, the following are the main pain points:
A repository containing the research papers published up until now with their citations.
There are a lots of places where research papers can be downloaded from like arXiv, google scholar etc. However, the pain point is, you have to manually go to these websites, find the paper and the corresponding citation and then use it. Sometimes, the paper isn't present or the citation is missing, then you have to look for an alternate.
Plagiarism check
I can't stress this enough. This is the biggest pain point of all. You have to write drafts after drafts to resolve plagiarism issues. At present, you need to buy a third party software to do this, but if this functionality can be integrated in a software like the one you are asking, it would be GREAT!!!

These are some great points. @many-intern-37109, can you please elaborate on "Reproducibility"? And by "logging data & the pace to run and test experiments", you mean to say that you wish for a functionality that can record and allow you to log your time and data for experiment, which you can then use while writing the paper itself?

One place where I kind of struggle- due to lack of time - some service to go through the relevant literature and provide a brief review. (Not AI generated summary, but something like two-minute paper- but now on the papers I have selected)
