I have been with Apollo Munich, now HDFC Ergo for 14 years. Same for my mom. Mom has made claims. I just recently purchased a much higher one for her, same company. I did extensive calling to multiple companies and concluded nothing still beats overall value of HDFC Ergo. YMMV, do your research, call them.

When speaking to Ditto In addition to the regular bio information please mention the following: • All likely places you will spend significant time in • Ask for hospital coverage in those areas • HDFC Ergo has plans based on zones, get clarity on this • If you have budget constraints or prefer to pay for convenience/no-headaches etc • All additional riders that they recommend • Ensure all information is correct in the final document after purchase (my policy missed a rider and I got it corrected)

I personally haven't bought via ditto (I plan to in next renewal timeframe) but some of colleagues bought it and they're satisfied. They too went with HDFC Ergo.

If you are trying HDFC Ergo, then calling their sales channel is good too. I called multiple times and asked for the same executive (Amit in Mumbai I think). He walked me through all my questions and knew I was looking at other companies to compare. Since he is an employee of HDFC Ergo, I did not feel he was under pressure to sell. Double check everything as @loud-artist-61521 mentioned; ask as much as you want.

I thought so too and I don't know the truth. But he mentioned that they are employed advisors and aren't paid by sales target. I never felt during the 6 or 7 calls and negotiation that he tried to push sell.
