Folks who mentioned that they get around $100k/year in RI Salaries, could you please mention your company names here? Most of the companies I reach out to give me Indian equivalent pay or reject me because of timezone issues. I understand that they would most probably be listed in https://github.com/yanirs/established-remote but trying to get referrals to have better chances of getting shortlisted 🙂

A few places I look for when I need a job are LinkedIn, YC startup jobs, YC who is hiring threads, Stackoverflow jobs, dedicated remote job sites, We work remotely. There are startup communities and lots of online communities for any domain of work. Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Rust, etc. language communities on Discord/Slack in my case. Plus founder communities where people post requirements. Some of these networks take time to build. There is no magic but there are lots of companies across the world hiring remote. Remember that talent filtering is also tougher in remote as I am seeing. I have been remote for 15 years now and I hire. As there are more companies going remote, there are also tons of candidates looking for remote options so you are competing with folks from US to Japan.

@wide-carpet-65149 Stackoverflow jobs portal is now closed. I do have a decent stackoverflow profile I am trying to use this RI India network to get unfair advantage over the competing folks via referrals 😉 I will also try other networks. 😄

I think referrals as an unfair advantage is OK but when it comes to high paying jobs the only real unfair advantage is what you can do for the company. How you go about your job application, what is in your cover letter and so on. Build your profile up step by step, know your strengths and play them well. Know your weaknesses even better and see how you can get better at them. My biggest weakness is my mental issues. Over years I have had many personal issues and simply quit. I go without work for months or even years. But as a team leader people really want me in so I still get high paying jobs even with a non-consistent resume. It takes time and effort. Since I have severe weakness, it takes a ton of dedication to work.

I’ve seen a lot of people complain about facing this issue. My suggestion would be to apply to lesser companies. Make sure they tick all the boxes and then write a personalised email to whoever is responsible for the hiring process. I’ve gotten my last 3 well-paying remote jobs by emailing/DM-ing the founder directly.

A tip that worked for me, ask for how much budget is allocated for the role and interview accordingly.

Europe and US are hard place to crack down due to timezone issues. You can try companies from Singapore, it's not far from India and they pay close pretty good. I used AngelList for my job search.
