how many of you are having issues with your mac because just of slack app? I could see slack app is always my bottleneck for my mac’s performance! Without slack app not opened my day is so awesome. Otherwise it is like working in windows vista

am not using chrome. Pretty much my day would be bunch of jetbrains ide opened (intellij/goland/datagrip). I use firefox

clear out the cache periodically in /Library/Containers/com.tinyspeck.slackmacgap

@elegant-appointment-49116 Check you activity monitor what hogging? memory or CPU.. I used have the kernel task hogging the CPU when I connect external monitor. I used the below steps to clear it again will come back .

What I remember is Slack Desktop Apps are built on Electron which uses Chromium, which seems to me like another browser instance open. This is the reason I stopped using their app and started using it as a pinned tab in my chrome (which is open for me pretty much all time). Turned on site notifications for it and now I don't feel the need to use the Desktop apps especially since I have it on phone too.

Using web slack in browser/chrome only for work which works great - keep slack app closed mostly except some times in the day as too many groups for work and non-work
