Reading all the answers and questions on Schengen Visa, I feel really daunting and intimidating now to even think of going to Europe. I don't think there's even a one-fit-for-all solution. Should we record all the questions on Schengen VISA onto a single notion page, and maybe have an AMA on this?

Mine got rejected thrice. Our age + self employed status makes it very difficult. I am in that phase now: β€œBhai 500 extra lele lekin visa dila de please”. Along with an AMA, Maybe we can ask for a really good visa consultant?

What's the best option then? πŸ˜… Go for a tourist visa showing the purpose as traveling (if taking family along on the offsite) or apply with a letter of invite from the employer (business travel)? We should definitely collect all the questions/hurdles on this topic or do AMA πŸ˜„

Again, the 'letter of invite' from the employer would be deemed as 'business travel', and would that be treated as tourist VISA?

yup reframed my question, tourist visa or business travel πŸ€”
And in case of business travel, if we plan to stay more and take family along I guess it complicates it even more πŸ˜…

Business visa is substantially easier to get than tourist visa. Businesses are more trusted than people -- and will probably require lesser documentation. BTW, I got my US visa on the 5th attempt. πŸ™‚ And I agree with the bit about age + marital status + property, etc. Sometimes you are just unlucky. But need to keep trying.
It is very common to go for business + take your family along. Just be clear about this in your application. You can add the details in your covering letter. I have gone to UK for a couple of weeks on work visa + family tagged along. No issues with visas at all.

I agree that having dependents and property matters. I was asked about it in past for US business visa and mine got approved during that time but was rejected for one of my colleague. Unfortunately, that trip didn't happen πŸ˜„
