Hey tribe, I'm applying for tourist schengen visa. And need some help from the group. One of my colleague applied and got refusal saying there was no mention of any reason to coming back to India. I'll be attending an offsite for a week and then travelling for a month in the schengen area. Would greatly appreciate if you can provide some inputs on: 1. What I can mention in my application to show that I'll indeed be coming back to India? 😅 I've heard showing that you've property helps. 2. Any suggestions on what I can provide as proofs for this? PS: I don't have any property on my name though. It's on my father's name. 3. My friend is repealing for his refusal. Any tips that can help him out with his repeal? Thanks.
I have seen messages from @straight-grass-37502 @wide-carpet-65149 on this topic and would really appreciate if you can provide some feedback. Thanks again.

Include financial details of what you own in India. If you have a remote job it seems it's trickier. I have my contracts (US) through my Indian company and the VFS officer said I should state myself as self-employed and not salaried since the visa officer might ask why I do not reside in the US. My second Schengen application didn't even need a letter from the US company as I am stating self employed. I submitted the work contract with the US and Indian company though. Plus bank statements of my Indian company and myself.
I am applying to Canada soon, and since that is tricky too, I am applying to mentor my team member who is Canadian. The US company will serve a letter for the same. Overall I feel remote work isn't always easy to explain to visa officers. So having an Indian entity with regular income is good for a visa.
If you don't have an Indian entity then make sure your work contract states remote work explicitly. Get a letter from your employer stating the reason for travel, signed by the manager with contact details. Mention your obligations to return home.

@melodic-crowd-48995, VISA for the first time is typically limited to 30 days stay in total in the EU. 90 days when you apply for VISA the second time you travel. Showing a 40-day itinerary might be tricky. Also, for showing the reason to come back - I had read on the internet to submit a family affidavit (my father saying that I reside at his property) - but Spain didn't accept that telling it's not in the list of documents. 😅 Not sure how other embassies might react but worth a try.

I submitted a company signed document saying that I am on holiday and will be back by the end to India. From what I have seen, applying for 30 days or 90 days don't matter long as you have sufficient funds to support and coming back to India. Everything is sadly random and luck based though. There is a slow and long term way to improve our visa acceptance rate for anywhere(might not be applicable for this time). Our passport is weak but it's like a credit card. More we travel, stronger it gets and shows that you travel often. If you have past US/schengen/aus visa, it gets easier the next time for any country visa. Makes it easy to prove that you are coming back

Thank you for your inputs @white-portugal-53510 and @straight-grass-37502. Just submitted my application at BLS office. 🙂 Let's see how it goes. 🤞
