Does anyone else face issues with Macbook Pro 16" discharging over night when in sleep mode? PS: I am a noob in Mac ecosystem and mostly use my Thinkpad. https://twitter.com/theonlynabarun/status/1352567619480653827

Mostly your Mac is not sleeping. I have my MBP16 always plugged in - so it is always charged but often I find it not sleeping in the mornings and sometimes even the fans are spinning. Not sure if it is because I have some stuff installed causing this or it is a general MBP16 issue — but I think you have a similar issue. I have started shutting it down at nights.

Docker was doing this to me. Use activity monitor to see usual process loads, kill some and find some process with hit and trial

the irritating thing - the macbook that is supposedly sleeping connects to my bluetooth headset when trying to connect to my phone

@gorgeous-tent-29765 - check your Energy Saver settings
Make sure Power Nap is off

There are apps that prevent sleeping. Check your activity monitor it has a column “Prevent Sleeping” that should tell you

Some great tips guys! Thanks! Just found this article from Apple which has many tips on getting your mac to sleep (I had my BT settings (mouse) and network settings set to Wake up). For me unfortunately, the WindowServer is preventing sleep at the moment and not sure how to turn that off.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts! @refined-vegetable-38843 -- I don't have Docker running on this machine. @damp-coat-97256 -- I tweaked around the power settings after I got the laptop and had turned off power nap back then. Bluetooth and WiFi are something that I am trying to tinker with and see effects on battery usage. @strong-evening-37474 -- right now, there are no apps with Prevent Sleeping == Yes. @loud-glass-33663 -- thanks for pointing to that article. I have now set Bluetooth devices to not wake up the machine. Will see if that makes any difference.
