I have a question that I need your views upon: During the lockdown, when every engineer is forced to work from indoors, and productivity is of utmost value now, have you observed an added aggressive pressure from your manager to meet deadlines? Is this a world-wide phenomenon in remote software industry? Or is this only temporary as non-remote managers do not have a habit of managing remote teams and are becoming overly cautious about the productivity of their teams?

During the weekend I came across some content on the optionality vs risk debate. I have been a big believer in how optionality leads to anti-fragility (Taleb’s words) but then I have found it hard to commit to something for a long period of time.  It was a timely reminder for me and I thought you might find it appropriate too.

Does anyone have any experience building or working with marketplace apps? Think Fiverr, Upwork, Uber, Lyft. We’re working on a platform where users can charge other users a fee for their services and the platform takes a cut. We are planning to use Stripe connect for the same but was wondering if there’s an alternative out there or even a service that builds upon an existing platform to make things simpler.

Hello y’all, looking for some help from the tribe. Some context- I started Growth.ski which is sales dev as a service, we majorly work with SaaS companies selling to large enterprises, few of the enterprises we’ve set up demos with include Vikram Solar, Shapoorji Pallonji, Government of Canada- ACV across these is $100k to $500k. I’ve been meaning to add “Prospecting/ Sales Copy” as a service for a while now, would love to get some initial thoughts from the tribe- this will help me in two aspects-

1) customers who want to drive their sales dev efforts themselves, can get their copy from us and iterate and run without giving anyone else control

2) add another revenue stream

Hi, Planning to start as a contractual software developer from India with a company based in US. This would be my first freelancer experience and I am not very knowledgeable on the legal side of it. Talking to CA and also exploring online few thing came up like: 1). I would need to register as a sole proprietor firm. 2). If I am giving service outside India I'd need Import/Export IEC code. 3). GST registration requirement 4). Opening a current account if receiving remittance from foreign also provide IEC code to bank 5). How to manage taxation? Does the company (which I will register) need to do its own taxation and on personal level I'd need to do my own taxation? I'd appreciate for any sort of guidance or a detail procedure guide if available?
