Years ago I mocked an intern for thinking his choice of neighbors would influence his career. If he’s reading this, I’d like to offer my apology. I can easily see that where you live might influence the energy you put into your career. If you live near optimistic winners, those qualities are sure to rub off to some extent. And I advise you to consider this fact a primary tool for programming your moist-robot self. The programming interface is your location. To change yourself, part of the solution might involve spending more time with the people who represent the change you seek. - How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams
I know you want to work remotely but be mindful that your environment does play a key role ( especially early in your career ). Surround yourself with people who are better than you. Figure out opportunities to work with your heroes. You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.

"So how can you make the right long-term choices for yourself, thus being a benefit to others in the long run, without looking like a selfish turd in your daily choices? There’s no instant cure, but a step in the right direction involves the power of permission. I’m giving you permission to take care of yourself first, so you can do a better job of being generous in the long run." - How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams

"This is the central illusion in life: that randomness is risky, that it is a bad thing—and that eliminating randomness is done by eliminating randomness" - Nassim Taleb
The longer the market goes without having a correction, the larger the correction will be when it happens. The longer we go in our careers and businesses without variation or randomness, the larger the amount of underlying risk we accumulate.
Moderate amounts of volatility are healthy. Lying on the ground and having a trainer drop a ten-pound medicine ball on you, you catching it, and throwing it back to them will make you stronger. Large amounts of volatility, like having a car dropped on you, will kill you. Likewise, moderate amounts of volatility in our careers and businesses are healthy.
entrepreneurial risk is more visible than the silent risk accumulated by people in most jobs.
Why remote work makes more sense than a regular secure job ☝️ Have a good week everyone 🤗

Guys, which tool do you use for documenting APIs? I know Swagger but anybody here who uses any other tool? Maybe better according to you and why?

I’d suggest using Postman to generate docs like this: https://apidocs.imgur.com/. Better because it lets your consumers download a Postman collection which they can use for testing etc.

I work at Postman so might be biased. But if you evaluate it or end up using it, I’d appreciate any feedback, I personally design it.

Nice. Still would recommend swagger. There should be tools to convert swagger doc to postnan collection if needed.

Postman is nice but I don't know if the sources can be version controlled, how the diffs look, and available compatible tooling.

Swagger is an open standard that's widely adopted. Even if I'm not a fan of that format, I end up recommending it everytime because there's good tooling.
