Continuing with my language learning experiments, I am working on a spectrum community for language learners. The idea is to learn German in open i.e. on the internet 😄 Feel free to join and let me know what language channels should exist 🙂 https://spectrum.chat/languagelearners/german/basic-deconstruction-of-german-grundlegende-dekonstruktion-der-deutschen~46158fc1-b69d-4c5d-9486-b5ccb32aca09

Hi everyone, we are doing a meetup tomorrow at SpringRole's Office talking about Remote Work. Is anyone here interested in talking about their experiences over there?

Hello remote workers, have any of you taken GST number for exporting services out of India? I am working remotely for foreign clients from some years and last year got to know GST number is mandatory irrespective of the 20lpa turnover limit. Confirmed it from 2 CAs. I am procrastinating from some time to take it because of increased admin work after taking it. Also, the GST rate on export of services is 0%. So, no GST needs to be collected and submit to the government but still have to file GST returns every month. It would be great to know others experiences. I think most freelancers are not aware of it.

yeah, most remote workers do not know about this. One of my friends got to know last year as he was not able to file ITR without GST number with turnover above 20lpa. And after learning more about it, it turned out everyone has to take it even for Rs. 1 export.

If all your exports are exempt, you don't need a gst number, according to my CA. I was advised to not get a GST number because once you have it you need to file stuff even if is just 0 every month.

There is increased admin work after taking it. CAs give different advices. One CA told me to take it now. But other advised taking when govt ask for it. But as per law, GST is mandatory even it comes under 0%.

I'll get it checked again, but mine was pretty sure. The criteria was, iirc - do you engage in any inter state service, or any activity that is not exempt, or do you intend to?

And is your service exempt or zero rated?

Export of services is exempt last I checked. Not zero rated

If it is zero rated we need a GST number.

Yes. Ask specifically if you need a gst if all your services are exempt and you don't intend to engage in services that are not exempt
  • t

    tall-postman-9284

    04/18/2019, 1:23 PM
