    The idea of a 5G RPM (I've got other files, too, in that same destination directory) is a bit scary. I guess it's no different than copying a big zip file...you gotta copy one way or another.

    and rpms have other benefits like nuking old versions, starting/configuring services, creating users and groups

    Unfortunately, the RPM will do nothing other than to deliver the IBM installer and the supporting ZIP file that the installer needs. I found a cognos module...maybe that'll be of some use.

    wait, I take that back. There's a Juniper app that requires being installed - and run - as the local Administrator account the first time. If any other user runs it first, you have to uninstall and start over. And I do mean Administrator, not an account in the Administrators group.

    pffft, we did it all manually, because trying to get that automated was ... not good.

    I had to do something similar using the PSAppDeployment toolkit once as an app had to be installed in user context (with admin rights) and display the first run.
