I’m on a Mac.  I installed Bolt with Homebrew, and the transport was set manually to ed25519.  Not sure how gems would come into play.  TCP sockets would just be available when the underlying stack starts calling for resources to the kernel, wouldn’t it?

I think for homebrew, the two gems are vendored

otherwise, it just pulls down the .dmg from the repo

Thanks, yeah I know those issues exist, i just have not had a chance to work on the backlog in bolt for a while

The archive module supports this currently <https://github.com/voxpupuli/puppet-archive#s3-bucket>

There is a feature request to add this directly to the `file` resource <https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/PUP-4080> but there are no immediate plans.

The difficulty with adding s3 support to the file type/provider is that the file type is one of the oldest and most complicated type/provider implementations. And everyone depends on it. So the risk of regression is extremely high.

That leads me to ask if there are any plans to rewrite it in a future major release in an effort to reduce its complications.

The lense being shipped for kdump doesn't work with the default config file from RHEL9

IIRC the last time we tried to bump augeas we ran into issues with AIX and Solaris.
