The latest multiqc seems to throw a
segfault
when using the linux docker image in compatibility mode on MacOS. I think this might have something to do (again) with the
polars
dependency, like we had in one of the previous versions.

gaaaah
How about Apple Containers? 👀

I'm getting increasingly tempted to just ditch polars and parquet outputs completely, they've caused nothing but headaches
m
just fixed it by adding
polars-runtime-compat
as you suggested in the PR
will push an update to bioconda
p
That's the dep that I just removed, right?
m
nah, you removed the lts-cpu thingy
the runtime compat is the new one
p
Yeah, original issue that this came from was https://github.com/MultiQC/MultiQC/issues/3510
Right, so the conda
polars-runtime-compat
is because conda can't handle the square brackets
[rtcompat]
right?
So this is a bioconda-recipe change only, no change needed in MultiQC?
m
yes! the source of the issue is the bioconda recipe

will push an update to bioconda
lmk when up and I can review + merge
m
