Hello, happy Friday! I have a few nf-core/nf-test questions I’m hoping to get answered: 1. Can someone help me understand where which parameters are supposed to be defined? When do you define them in

nextflow.config

conf/test.config

,

nf-test.config

,

tests/nextflow.config

or

modules/local/mytool/tests/nextflow.config

? 2. Is there a way to

nf-core modules test

with local modules? i can’t get it to stop appending

modules/nf-core/

to the local module name or path I’m trying to test. Is

--dir

not actually doing what I think it should? I’m running nf-core tools v 3.5.2. my command is

nf-core modules test --dir  modules/local/ mytool

and I get the error

CRITICAL Cannot find directory 'modules/nf-core/mytool'. Should be TOOL/SUBTOOL or TOOL

3. How should results that are “stable” with test data but unstable with real data be handled? Its presumably due to little rounding errors once enough data is incorporated.

1.) nextlfow config: general things, conf/test.config: minimal running setup, nf-test.config: config on when and what to trigger nf-test etc., tests/nextflow.config, nf-test/CI specific things that are not covered in conf/test.config, local module config: if you need some specifc setting to test a local module (haven't seen that too much)

Thanks, great to know! I will try to work up an example dataset for 3, but I’m encountering it with the outputs from the HUMAnN functional profiler.
