    I'm in the process of upgrading to 1.0. One of the changes I see is that there is now a dark theme via media query included. I had a toggleable light/dark theme, but on v0.2 I could just use my own media query to set the css variables. In 1.0, I need to use 
    !important
    to override the default variables if I want to override it in my own media query. What is the new recommended way to customize the theme with css variables?

    I was able to avoid using 
    !important
    on every variable by overriding on 
    body
    instead of 
    :root
    . Does that seem like the right way to set my custom themes?

    You can add the 
    -no-dark-theme
    class to the 
    <html>
    element to opt out of the built-in dark theme.
