in what has become one of my favorite reddit comments of all time, at one point in /r/JavaScript someone posted the topic "If you wanted to create the worst JavaScript framework possible, what features would you include?" The #1 answer was: "I would just clone intercooler.js"

They have a point. htmx is a very poor javascript framework.

    1. hire an ex-googler 2. tell him to clone htmx and post it on github ??? 4. now you have a popular framework that tops the charts

on my side I wish I knew about intercooler and hypermedia approach long ago. lots of stuff I've done with a JS framework seems to be a waste of time now

🙂 it has been a good for me to get beat up so badly early on, I was a hot head when I was younger and now I don't take it as personally and I can take a lot more before I snap. It is hard to change mindsets and I don't blame people who follow what the big tech companies and influencers say, it's normal behavior.

Had a great conversation today with the creators of the minimal computing toolkit (https://sas-dhrh.github.io/dhcc-toolkit/toolkit/minimal-computing.html), who are digital humanities professors in the UK. They hadn't heard of HTMX before, and they were excited when I explained it at a high-level — the ability for web pages and web apps to be smaller, use less energy, be more accessible, and more aligned with the early visions of Internet computing. They are generally interested in HTMX, as well as learning more about hypermedia and getting to know the project/community for the potential of collaboration. On a concrete note, they're also looking for feedback on their toolkit (https://t.co/Vnldv6aiXU), and would welcome perspectives from the broader htmx / hypermedia community. I made a tweet with more details, to introduce them to more people involved (before they hop on the Discord, maybe!) https://twitter.com/sambutlerUS/status/1613592220862382095 I thought some cross-pollination and collaboration here could be a great way to bring HTMX and hypermedia more into the academic and educational world, as well as into the world of "people who need to start doing basic things online (e.g. simple webpages), and who can learn some proper fundamentals starting with html and hypermedia". Glad to help further the conversation with them, answer questions, etc, just let me know if I can be of help.
