Another question... How do I change server side sort order of a table - ideally by changing/adding query params to the

hx-get

url?

The most simple approach I can think of is to have an

hx-get

with the url indicating the sort field and direction tied to the element that is being clicked on to change the sorting parameters. I guess it’s just that I need to get used to the simplicity (after more than 10 years of building SPAs) ☺️

hx-include

will be useful for more complex scenarios…

Depending on the use case, the path extension can be helpful as well

Eg if you are posting something that will update a view that already has filters on it

i think that in a 204 NO CONTENT situation, we should still process oob swaps. What do other people think?

I have a middleware that attaches flash messages as oob to all outgoing responses. I haven't tested it with a 204 but if it did happen to attach the message I would still want it to apply

like if the backend happens to apply an oob to the reponse why would we want htmx to have an opinion about it

Hi everyone, I'm using HTMX to update an entire form. I have this on the form

action="/form.php" method="post"

, but ultimately I'm using HTMX to intercept any form submissions and replace the entire from with the response from the server. However, I've noticed that if there's a delay in the response, and I repeatedly submit the form too quickly, HTMX seems to "give up" and the form ends up being submitted normally without HTMX intercepting it. As a result I end up directly on the

/form.php

page. If I remove

action="/form.php"

it prevents me from ever ending up directly on that page, but still if I make too many requests in a short period of time the form defaults to making a normal GET request, without any intervention by HTMX. Is this kind of behaviour normal? If so, is there anything I can do to prevent HTMX from being overridden if I'm making lots of requests before HTMX has time to respond? I've tried using

throttle

on

hx-trigger

, but it doesn't seem to have an effect.

Okay I think I've found a solution:

action="javascript:void(0);"

Does this seem like the best way to fix the problem?

Alternatively, adding this seems to work too:

onsubmit="return false;"

I ended up going with the latter. This allows me to keep the existing

action="/tool.php" method="post"

, but otherwise cancels the form submission in all circumstances.

Hi, I'm not sure if this is related to HTMX at all, but thought about asking here. I have a form that uses web components. The purpose of the form is to set a criteria (with check boxes) and filter the results. I'm using HtMX to ajax load the results. On a first try everything works great. The issue I'm seeing is when doing new submits as the parameters are appended to the existing URL. Which is inaccurate, because it keeps adding to what was there before. For instance, if on a first try I select the checkbox color I get:

`url?color=orange

If on a second try, I deselect color, and select material and use, I'm getting:

url?color=orange&material=paper&use=fun

I want the url parameters to be cleared and refreshed only with what I choose each time. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you so much.

Did you specify a URL for the form?

No, I left the action empty since it is reloading the same page.... Is that bad?
