    hx-trigger="click delay:1ms"
  • c
That's if I want it to perform the action 1ms after I click, right? I just want it to perform the action 1ms after it loads. Is that possible? @User

I suppose the thing about classless is that you can pretty much just swap them out and see what they look like without any/too many changes.
  • g
Yeah true. I guess it's more about which opinions fit your project better, e.g. simplecss has button-like style for
    a
tags, which is useful in my case.
  • m
    ah, I think you want
    hx-trigger:="load delay:1ms"
  • c
    That did it, thanks!

Hi again. Is it possible to use htmx to scroll to the top of a form post successful submit? Current behavior seems to be that the scroll position remains static.

see the "scroll & show" section

This framework is fantastic. Thank you!

😀 glad you are finding it useful

Hello everyone, after I saw a post on HTMX and Nim I've been dying to try out the library. However my current project is so small it doesn't really warrant a server application. Is it possible to have HTMX swap between different parts of HTML? So hide some elements, and then swap them in later?
  • s
I realise this isn't what HTMX is supposed to do, but I wanted to try out the logic of it without a server first.
  • s
On the other hand I guess I could just put the site up as fragments to be statically served, that should work with HTMX, right?
  • s
👋 If you only want to swap between bits of existing DOM elements, the htmx sister project _hyperscript will probably be better suited to that job. But as you said - if you did want to load some remote fragments dynamically, you can certainly serve those as static files and tell htmx to load them.
  • s
    Hmm, hyperscript definitely looks interesting
  • s
But I think I'll go the statically serve route for this project. Then I can easily extend it to use a server if I want to later on.
  • s
Definitely a good approach. If you just serve static fragments without server processing, you miss out on things like being able to read and set headers, check query strings/POST data, fancy logic to switch between different fragments... but if you don't need those, it's not an issue 🙂
  • s
One of the best examples of using it for fragments is https://htmx.org/examples/lazy-load/

  • s
Well the idea would be to start now with just my Apache server and serve static fragments. Then if I need more later I can simply throw a Nim server in the mix and get all the other benefits without having to change much on the HTMX side.

still refuse to understand what hydrate means and no one can make me 😑

I think this is another instance of the "SPA all the things" camp acknowledging that maybe SPAs are not a good idea for everything.

new rule: no taking web development seriously folks!

Oh boy. Please people, don’t point this poor misguided soul at all the htmx Django action going on …. they may need a little lie down afterwards from the all that self-imploding righteous indignation 🥴
  • f
Well, I'm not in the Javascript world nor do I want to be; which is why I use HTMX
  • e
Thoughts on Hibiki? https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30103906 I assume you could use this with htmx, but I don't see why you would tbh Asking here because this seems like something htmxers would be interested in.

Hi, I am looking to find a working example of of a multi select element that works well with HTMX. Does anyone have a working example? I am trying to avoid jQuery if possible so that rules out Select2 but I am happy to look at how anything would work with something like Flask and posting the the selections using a Form.
