    Is there a way to preserve an individual element with 
    hx-preserve
    but only preserve the element it is on and not its children? I am trying to preserve the state of an alpine compenent's 
    x-data
    . I can work around it by moving the state up a level from the element that gets swapped but it would help keep the state within the template partial and improve the LoB :).

    Hi, I just ran into HTMX and is trying the example quickstart. It doesn't work on chrome, firefox and edge

    is there a console error? you are probably getting a CORS error since you are making a get request to a resource on a different domain. Can you make a request to a server on your local machine for testing?

    Yeah, it looks like you have a bad URL and n your code. Maybe a space copied in on the URL?

    Ok it works. you need the "/" before the *.html

    So hx-get="page1.html" won't work but hx-get="/page1.html" will

    That’s going to be because of the web server you’re using. Im not sure what your setup is, but you can see the http response in your dev tools. One of those is probably returning a 404 error.

    Hx-get is the same as fetch, so you could say 
    hx-get=“https://google.com”

    But I wouldn’t recommend it 😇

    The library really puts your website back under the control of your server, using straight up REST design, the way it was originally meant to work.

    Ok, but that was just an example. Googles website may break horribly because of all of the JavaScript that it requires to run.

    If you have a blog or personal page that you can trust, try that. Or maybe even try htmx.org — that should be pretty free of client side JS.
