  • b
    Paying my 7b toll.
  • m
I think I got it in
  • m
most of the PRs are pretty easy actually
  • m
@User would love to talk today
  • g
I'm probably available this afternoon, 2:00 or 3:00 Mountain?
  • m
    2PM mountain would be awesome
  • c
Good to job getting the PRs down. Thanks for merging mine 😊
  • g
Ok. I’ll try to get away then.
  • h
yeah thanks for the notes on mine - I will update this weekend

About History/hx-push-url: how do you go about recreating the page's contents when the full HTML is loaded from a pushed URL? How do you know what is its target? And how do you ensure the target is even there?
  • b
You mean if a user refreshes the browser on a pushed url?
  • w
    Yes
  • b
Tbh I’d be checking on the server for the htmx headers and if they’re not there then do what I need to to recreate the whole page
  • w
And then you get the initial / home page, right? And from there, shouldn't you also load and render the content that the specific URL points to?
  • b
In using jinja with Python so a url gets a template. If it’s not htmx asking then I use the inheritance to get the content for the specific page plus everything else. What are you using on the server?
  • m
  • m
htmx request headers will tell you if it is an htmx request, if it is a history restoration and what the id of the target element is, if any
  • w
I'm using Node (Fastify) and pug templates. When you say "specific page" and "everything else", is the page a sort of "main content" and everything else the toolbar and navbar and such? And are pushed URLs then always limited to "what's supposed to be rendered as the main content"?
  • w
Yes, I nailed that part 👍
  • b
I always assume that if I’m pushing a URL then the user will get the same looking page when they hit refresh. If not then I don’t push it. It looks like pug has inheritance support. I use that to recreate the page - I have a tree of templates that all get rendered if the request wasn’t htmx.
  • w
    Yes, exactly. Cheers.
  • c
am i the only one having issues loading htmx from unpkg right now? alpine loads fine
  • c
its taking forever and sometimes won't even finish loading at all
  • n
Is there a way to limit concurrency to prevent multiple requests from updating the same piece of DOM?
  • n
  • m
    i want to add an
    hx-sync
attribute that lets you sync requests from multiple elements on a single element
  • m
you could also disable the buttons while an htmx request is in flight
  • m
    https://unpkg.com/htmx.org@1.6.1 returns quickly for me
