Hey, back from github. Sorry to leave you hanging..
  • g
Yeah, I"m not a pythonista, but it all looks readable to me. What does this code look like once it's sent to a browser? What is the raw HTML that htmx has to deal with?
  • f
one moment, will see if I can work out how to extract that. it looks sane in the debugger
  • f
this must be something so basic I will kick my self once understood
  • g
If @mysterious-toddler-20573 were here, he would say something like "welcome to software development, enjoy your stay.."
  • g
    😉
  • f
    looks sane
  • g
But you phoned in after hours, so you just get the night shift...
  • f
thats all good, been doing this for a long time ( software, not web )
  • f
I know the file expands out to the correct one as well.
  • f
its like it just doesn't like the js files.
  • g
Yes, I figured. When I was new I was convinced that the C++ compiler was buggy...
  • g
Your code all looks alright, so the error must be happening somewhere else, and just getting misattributed to line 1.
  • f
I can count the number of times someone has declared the assembler / c compliler / C++ compiler / dynamic memory allocator as the problem in teh 100s
  • f
    teh actuals are single digits
  • g
Is it possible to pull out all/some of the htmx to get the page back to a working state.
  • f
So if I try a page that just uses that header and otherwise has no htmx I get the same issue
  • f
I have tried changing the lone order, no change
  • f
I will comment out the line, I think it ithen "goes away"
  • g
This 100%. However, htmx/hyperscript are not C++. It is new, and open source. There are bugs, and we're finding them as quickly as we can. In this case, though, I think there's something silly missing.
  • g
Ok. Perhaps something is wrong with your local copy of htmx? Is it possible to pull from the one on unpkg.com?
  • f
can do, is there a full link?
  • g
  • g
Took a second to get the un-minified link. The one to use normally is just https://unpkg.com/htmx.org
  • f
ok, error is no longer reported against the min.js
  • f
let me just check some things
  • g
Sounds good. I'm switching from keyboard to phone, but let me know how it goes?
  • f
I am guessing he way I pulled the files in the first place was wrong, I think I ended up with some page wrappings instead of raw content
  • f
ack, I have a bunch of stuff to retry
  • g
so, technically, it WAS the C++ compiler 😉
