htmx

Yeah, if you’re just getting started, make polling work well enough, then move on.

Basically I disavbled my forced 60 second page refresh by commenting out, and set up this 10 second poll for testing, however, it does not fire, I think I have the placing of the htmx tags incorret

yep, trying to build some basics with an understanding I will need to tear it down

pycharm says the hx tags are "not allowed here" so I likely have my understanding werong

Know that SSE and WebSockets are there, and awesome, and you can dive into them when you have the rest of the system functioning.

Dunno pycharm, but hx- is a nonstandard attribute name. If you want strict validation, try `data-hx-*`

okk that looks like it stopped pycharm complaining, now to work out why I am not seeing anything on my /systems/<username> route

hmmm, no sign of my get call triggering, any simple way to confirm if htmx should be working at all, I have it referenced in my base.html with

It's not you. Sometimes the error messages are beyond cryptic. That's the price of a runtime interpreter.

First, take Python out of the equation by looking at the raw HTML that your browser is using.

Things like bootstrap anf font awesome just work, wonder what I have missed

looks a sane expansion compared to other .js that is working

Also, you might try using the NON-minified version of htmx. That lets you at least look at where in the source code its breaking. Even if you're new to the library, you can sometimes recognize which keywords in your own code are triggering the error.

ok, I have both there, tweaking the reference...

also pukes on firt line, am I missing some form of type field?

looks like it pukes on the very firrst character

can't see what I might have wrong, though it must be something basic

tried switching order with other js files, and same error ( other js files work )

expansion in browser shows it is complaining on actual file content, so its the right stuff, but it just doesn't even like the first char

It's hard to say without looking at your code. Htmx is probably NOT puking on the first character. But, your browser can't say where the problem is when it's looking at minified code. Are you able to switch to the non-minified version?

I tried switching to non minified and same issue

So this must be something really basic on my side

This is the head blcok on my base.html, I simply can't see what is wrong

{% block head %}
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{{ url_for('static', filename='css/bootstrap_cyborg.css') }}">
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{{ url_for('static', filename='css/orpheus.css') }}">
    <script src="{{ url_for('static', filename='js/htmx.js') }}"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="{{ url_for('static', filename='js/utils.js') }}"></script>

{% endblock %}
