htmx

to append the new flash messages to the end

load a page, get a flash message, submit a hx-post, get a second flash message - now you have two flash messages in the messages holder

The snippet I'm swapping in has e.g., bootstrap tooltips that need to be initialized after the HTML has loaded. What's the proper way to run some kind of JS callback for this situation? Should I just have a `<script>` in my HTML?

and now you're replacing the two messages in the messages slot with what the boosted link is providing

```js
htmx.onLoad(function(content) {
    var sortables = content.querySelectorAll(".sortable");
    for (var i = 0; i < sortables.length; i++) {
      var sortable = sortables[i];
      new Sortable(sortable, {
          animation: 150,
          ghostClass: 'blue-background-class'
      });
    }
})
```

and what I really want is the old two messages AND whatever the boosted link provides

maybe `hx-preserve='true'` on the message container?

what I saw when I tried that was that I kept the old messages but not new ones

so that if the boosted link was going to create it's own message w/ preserve I had [old1, old2] and not new1

and without preserve I saw new1 but not old1,old2

```html
<message-container hx-preserve=true>
  <message id="new1" hx-swap-oob="afterend:#message-container">...</message>
</message-container>
```

it would be useful to have a more put together demo of what I"m asking for anyway

that's a really good idea - I thought swap-oob had to be a stand alone top level element to be used though

Hey! Is there a way to get the element that triggered an ajax request when listening to htmx:beforeRequest? I want to add the 'disabled' attribute to buttons that have fired a request and then remove it with htmx:afterRequest...
