Is a 286 the only way to stop polling? I've noticed polling continues even if the hx-trigger is removed from the DOM

we should not continue polling once an element is removed: https://github.com/bigskysoftware/htmx/blob/e3c0dadbe7de09fde4df32fb7d730ab8385379b4/src/htmx.js#L965

I'm sure i had this happen but I thought it was a bug and worked around it, so I don't have the code to replicate anymore.

Is there an easy way to download the dist folder as a zip/tar file, or should I clone the repo and copy it from there? We host all our web deps internally and downloading https://unpkg.com/browse/htmx.org@1.6.1/dist/ file by file is a bit tedious 😄

Hi everybody, i would like to clear an input field after hx-post request. Can this be done with HTMX or should i empty the field with Jquery/JS?

I'd recommend doing a form.reset in JS or hyperscript, but you could also do an out of band swap and return an empty form in the post request

agree w/ ajusa. Is the input not within the replaced content? If not, could it be? If not, maybe an out of band swap, or a bit of scripting? Here is what the hyperscript would look like:

This'll be interesting. Now I need to see whether I can hold an IMAP connection open on the server and push new mails up to the page. I was going to do that in the existing app but couldn't bring myself to sort out websockets with django and ember. This feels close to 80% done with only a fraction of the code. Hey everyone 👋 , I'm wondering about how htmx solves a specific race condition that I was previously avoiding using plain JS. It happens when one of our form elements triggers a request on

. The server responds with HTML, which is then replaced on the page. The race condition happens in this scenario: - User selects checkbox 1, request 1 goes out - User in addition selects checkbox 2, request 2 goes out - Request 2 comes back first, the HTML is replaced. The HTML response has details about checkbox 1 and checkbox 2 - Request 1 comes back, with HTML that only contains details about checkbox 1. The

modifier doesn't solve this issue in theory because even if there is a delay of say 500ms between checkbox 1 and 2 being selected, it's still technically possible for request 2 to come back first. The way we were solving this via plain JS was to store the request time of the most recent request and ignore any updates that were

Hi there, @User! The usual ways to include a frontend library/framework like htmx and hyperscript in your project are: 1) directly via CDN, or 2) git-cloning or manually downloading the repository files from GitHub, or 3) using an automatic frontend package and dependency manager, like npm, pnpm or yarn. By far, the best option is to use a package manager. It can keep track of all your dependencies automatically, and update them as needed - while still allowing you to keep all the files locally, and serve them all from your own server. While it can take some time for you to learn all the commands to use a package manager to its full potential, it only takes an hour or less to learn the basic operations - and the time spent is well worth the effort.

I use Discord on my office computer, which - thankfully - I will not be using very much for the next few days. So, I wanted to express my gratitude to this project, and the people behind it, for being willing to do something different, and synthesize principles of "the past" with techniques of the "modern web" - which, in turn, provides the ability to build dynamic sites with great performance, and much less complexity than those other projects.
