That's perfectly fine. You are already doing a lot. I hope the community grows and more htmx lovers will subscribe to the tag at stackoverflow.

thanks. i saw another today. https://alpinejs.dev/ . i've only toyed with htmx so far and wondered. do you have to go balls deep with it or can you just use it sparingly to begin with and still do ur own thing like.
  • m
htmx is incremental and can be used for as much or as little of your site as you want. For example, if you have a slow chunk of your site that you want to lazy load, it's two attributes: https://htmx.org/examples/lazy-load/ Alpine is a front-end oriented library that pairs well with htmx. A lot of people use the two together: htmx for server interaction, alpine for pure front end work. There is also hyperscript, a sibling project of htmx, that we are working on and that addresses use cases similar to alpine, but from a different direction: https://hyperscript.org

I personally use AlpineJS for things like dropdown, tabs, etc. (so like JQueryUI) and HTMX for the rest (so like JQuery)

Im having trouble with the back button given this bit of code
    Copy code
    html
<tr
 hx-get='/customers/123456'
 hx-trigger="click" hx-target='body' hx-swap='outerHTML'
 hx-push-url='true' >
<td>get a page on click<td>
</tr>
The new content shows, but using the back button reloads the current page Have I left anything out that is required?

Hey, I also have a question about history 😊 Is there a way to use hx-push-url without history/caching? I'm using htmx to update a listing based on filters, and have the url reflect these changes. But when clicking an item and returning to the listing, none of the lazyloaded images load.
  • g
This only seems to happen on safari, so guessing the problem lies there.
  • b
    Safari is 💩
  • g
    are you using native lazyloading?

Have tried re-initialising after various events to no joy
  • c
    It made no difference
  • m
Can you post a screen recording?
  • m
When you click the back button, htmx should look in the cache for the last snapshot associated with that URL and load it into the history target, which defaults to the body
  • g
I've figured this out, for some reason the images are losing their height when retrieved from the history on safari 🤔 If they have explicit heights then they show.
  • m
pull web sockets and server sent events out into extensions
  • g
Just say "go" and I'll volunteer to do it 🙂
  • m
    go
  • m
1.7 we will pull them out
  • g
    F. What have I done?? 😅

htmx swoopin' on livewire on orange site:

Is this also a history/cache issue btw? The navigation is using
    hx-boost
    – when trying to navigate backwards and forwards it somehow adds more elements. Sometimes it will even update to the previous or next URL but still stay on the same page + add the elements as shown below
